 XIII CLAPEM Student Grants

There will be a limited number of partial supports for students who wish to attend the congress.

To apply for this grant you have to do the pre-registration (using the Registration Form) and to fill the information about this support, also your registration must include your CV and a reference letter from your advisor (Format pdf).

Application deadline has been extended to 11 April 2014.


Grants for U.S. participants

NSF support available for US based PhD students and Junior Researchers. Applications will be received until May 15, 2014.

ISI-World Bank Grants

CLAPEM XIII has been awarded ISI-World Bank funds to support the participation of residents of developing countries from the Caribbean and Latin America in the event.

These funds come from the World Bank Fund for Statistical Capacity, WBFSC, whose objective is to improve the capacity of statistical officers and academics in developing countries, providing them with statistical knowledge to develop statistical systems through the participation in international conferences and workshops.

Up to eight awards of U.S. $ 800.00 each, will be given to residents of developing countries in Latin America and the Caribbean to cover

(i) Reduced registration (half of the regular early registration),

(ii) Part of ticket cost or

(iii) Part of hotel and living expenses.

Preference will be given to

1. Residents of countries in the region where Statistics is less developed.

2. Graduate students (enrolled at least in a magister program in Statistics or related subject).

3. People working in Statistical Applications in the private or public sector.

4. People presenting a contributed talk or a poster at CLAPEM.

5. People who have not previously received funding from WB through ISI or any of its associations.

Deadline for application for this support is May 15th. The awardees shall be notified by June 10th.
